Flambard Press to Close
Posted: 2 July 2012
Twenty-year-old poetry specialist Flambard Press is being wound down following the loss of its Arts Council England funding last year.
The publisher had been receiving around £21,000 a year from ACE, which enabled it to publish eight to 10 titles annually. John Fowles: Selected Poems, which is to be released on 12th July, is likely to be its final title.
Managing editor Will Mackie currently works alongside Flambard Press founders Peter and Margaret Lewis on the list of about 120 titles. He said they were still "considering carefully" what to do with the list, though he said the main aim was to "keep it together".
The process of closing the business is likely to be completed by April 2013.
